I wrote this blog post in 2013, shortly after becoming a member of the Crazy 8 Press publishing collective. It's both a thank your for your generous support by buying our books as well as an apology for being such nudges by continually asking you to buy yet another of our books...all wrapped up in the promise that we're going to keep coming back and asking again!

No Archie Marries, or Archie Americana, or Archie, The Very Best of Dan DeCarlo. And, most disappointing, no Archie: The Married Life, Volume 1 or Volume 2. Needless to say, as the writer of the Life With Archie monthly magazine (nominated for a 2011 Eisner Award as Best Publication for Young Adults…not that it’s relevant to the topic at hand; I just like saying it) from which these 300-plus page tomes are assembled, I was disappointed by its absence.

By the time the Masters of the Universe figures arrived at DC for Dave and me to familiarize ourselves with them, all the research, development, design, innovation, and packaging had been done. The only thing He-Man and the MOTU didn’t have was much of a history, or what we writer-types call a back story.
